Introduction
James Latter has devoted the last twelve years to serving English speaking clients with survey reports and helpful advice about the French Property they are about to buy. Please contact him by email or phone if any of the following does not cover your particular need.
The survey
His Pre-Purchase survey is a thoroughly objective building inspection with a careful analysis of defects and deficiencies. It also exposes matters of non-conformity and provides you with the full picture of what you are about to buy. Putting these issues into context removes uncertainty and allows you to make an informed decision. More than just a building health check, it becomes your guide to future maintenance and development.
Training
James is bi-lingual and a member of ‘La Compagnie Nationale des Experts Immobilier’, a chartered body of some 450 property Experts across France. Having studied as a ‘stagière’ for three years under the tutelage of one of the Compagnie’s most respected experts in Paris, James was confirmed as a ‘membre titulaire’. He was invited to the ‘Conseil Superieur National de L’Expertise in 2007. La C.N.E.I is a charter member of the RICS (the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and TEGOVA (the European Group of Valuer’s associations). Periodic technical courses add to his experience gained from over 1000 French property inspections.
Network
Working in close co-operation with the ‘Surveyors-en-France’ team and benefitting from the joint experience of his C.N.E.I. colleagues across France, James can draw on a wealth of expertise whatever the particular issue might be. He will not hesitate to put you in contact with the specialist you need.
The Surveyors-en-France ethic of independence means we do not advise you whether to buy or not. We trust that your decision is helped by being better informed about the property you are buying.
Over the last twelve years the market has reached a level of maturity and has recently seen dramatic changes. It is reassuring to know that much of our experience and sound contacts throughout France are still an active and reliable resource.
